Eden Whale Festival

Experience the largest whale watching celebration of the year, the Eden Whale Festival, from 2-4 November. The festival blends whale watching from sea to shore with family entertainment and immersive tours in and around the town, and on the water.

Located on the far south coast of NSW, Eden is one of Australia’s premier whale watching destinations and an ideal spot to see hundreds of whales (and their calves) as they journey south, back to Antarctica, on their annual migration.

Highlights include a spectacular street parade on Saturday, live music and shows, market stalls, local produce and the region’s most impressive fireworks display.

Where: Eden Whale Festival market area, Eden Sportsground
Info: Visit our whale and shorebird display on Saturday 3 November and learn more about whales and other marine mammals. You’ll find out how to support local whale rescues and discover the best drives, campsites, picnic spots and whale watching vantage points in NSW national parks. Keep an eye out for one of our friendly whale mascots!

Whale Watching

When: From 11am, Saturday 3 November 2018
Where: Eden Rotary Lookout
Info: Join us for land-based whale watching from Eden Lookout and see how many whales you can spot on their southbound journey. Make sure to log your sightings via the Wild About Whales app.

Davidson Whaling Station Open Day

When: From 10am - 3pm, Sunday 4 November 2018
Where: Davidson Whaling Station
Info: Come along to the free open day at the Davidson Whaling Station and discover how the killer whales helped the Davidson family. Explore the site's historic house and kitchen building. Tea and coffee is provided, with freshly baked damper for the kids!
